Just get here...

...The little things that make you feel at home have been taken care of for you at Alcedonia. Whether it's a big pot for cooking fresh, Royal Red shrimp from Billy's Seafood in Bon Secour to a dedicated ice machine to fill your cooler before beach outings, we've tried to think of it all so that you don't have to. In case you're wondering if you should bring "it" or not, we've provided a list of items that you'll find at Alcedonia.

Check out some of the other amenities that Alcedonia has to offer:

Four bedrooms and four, full baths
Alcedonia comfortably sleeps 10 people in its 4 bedrooms plus sleeper sofa between the ground floor and a spectacular third floor.

Dual master suites...
Flip a coin for who gets the room with the "big bed"? Not at Alcedonia. Two spacious master suites await guests on the third floor. King-sized beds in each room, a marble Jacuzzi tub built for two, and a separate, marble shower. If you're hot-blooded, ceiling fans are provided in each bathroom to keep the air moving around while you're getting ready for a night out.

How about that view? Open the French doors in your master suite and step out on to the 30-foot deck to enjoy the great, Gulf view. The ocean breezes are great out there and late night conversations are quaint under the dimmable lighting on your covered deck.

If watching an old movie in bed is more your style, you'll have your own 27" TV with both a VCR and DVD player in each suite.

...and two bedrooms downstairs...
Two bedrooms lie on the ground floor, each with French-door access to a stroll along Kiva Dunes' private beaches. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the other has 2 twin-sized beds. These bedrooms share a "Jack-and-Jill" bathroom that allows plenty of privacy -- pocket doors keep areas separated within the bathroom. Each bedroom has its own TV and a VCR -- great for those days when warm, tropical showers keep the family indoors. Never fear -- we've provided a few children's videos and games on the shelves down there as well, but feel free to pop in your favorites from home if you bring them. We've also left some great books for beach reading on the shelves in these rooms.

Two wet bars
The main living area bar...
Come in out of the sun for lunch and catch some of the Indianapolis 500 while you're down for Memorial Day weekend. Throw some chips and dip on the bar in the main living area and let the gang dig in. Plenty of ice and water for drinks too -- you have a dedicated ice machine built under the bar and a sink as well.

The "master suite" bar...
It's early and the rest of the house is already awake. Coffee or juice sounds good right now, but the rest of the world's not ready to see you quite yet. Slip outside a master suite and a small wet bar awaits, complete with coffee maker, toaster, and a small refrigerator. Let the beach wait. Go enjoy the morning air out on your deck.
Home theater system
The first night, you went out to dinner. Maybe you went to an amusement park or for a walk on the beach. Tonight is a night to eat in and watch a movie together. Immerse yourself in Dolby Digital™ 5.1-channel surround sound while you watch your movie in the DVD player on the 32" TV. Dim the lights in the living room and enjoy some quality time being entertained together.

When the kids go to sleep, open the French doors on the main floor, let the breezes come in and throw on your favorite music in the CD player. There are speakers on the main floor deck as well; walk outside and the mood will follow you.
Two-car garage
One of the souvenirs brought back from many a beach trip is the sea spray that remains on your car on your way home.

But maybe you don't like souvenirs. Drive into the garage and close the door from the elements. It may not make you invulnerable to "sea film", but Alcedonia will do its part to help.
A short walk to the beach
No waiting on elevators here. Get your things and walk out the door. You're less than a block from a boardwalk taking you over protected sea oats and sand dunes to the deep, white, sugary beaches of Kiva Dunes. As you approach the gazebo on the boardwalk, you'll get a breathtaking view of the beaches that are a hidden treasure of Fort Morgan road.

You'll immediately notice a few things missing about this beach and that's just the way you'll want it. Rarely, if ever, will you see or hear planes with banners flying by. Pristine sand, plentiful shells and miles of beach to spread out the crowds make these beaches memorable.

Three community pools
Maybe the ocean isn't everyone's cup of tea. Right outside of Alcedonia's front door lies one of three Kiva Dunes community pools. Take your towel and grab a lounge chair. If you forget the suntan lotion, you're almost within shouting distance of Alcedonia's two front verandas.
Kiva Dunes Golf Course and Clubhouse Restaurant
Many people have discovered that the early Spring and Fall are two of the best times to visit the Gulf Coast. The golfing is great at the Jerry Pate-designed Kiva Dunes golf course, rated the #1 golf course in the state of Alabama and one of the Top 75 courses in the country. Visit the pro shop in the clubhouse for everything you need before a round.

Afterwards, enjoy a grilled hamburger in the restaurant and watch the sunset as you look out on the 18th hole. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
